Political situation in Peru

lacolinanewsdoloro

On November 9th, 2020, Peruvians lived a difficult situation because of the dismissal of their ex-president Martín Vizcarra and the promotion of the ex-vice president Merino to the post.

Protests through the streets of Lima took place due to the discontent that citizens had with at that time the new President of Peru,

Merino. “Merino doesn’t even have a college degree. He is not my president!” said a Peruvian citizen called Rodrigo, really worried about the Destiny of his country.

A lot of people were worried because of the economic and health problems that their country has and that the government should solve. Despite the opinion of the country, the authorities refused to get Martín Vizcarra back because he had a lot of corruption problems.

The problem was solved when Francisco Sagasti was proclaimed the new president of Peru with 97 votes in favor of the council. Now he is looking for solutions to the problems that he has to face in his new challenge.

In my opinion, the situation got better quickly because we have seen those conflicts that some countries have had and not every time they find the solution as fast as Peru did. The corruption should never be justified because that makes an unfair country, maybe the measures that were taken weren’t the best option because it’s dangerous to fire a president in this covid-19 situation. However, they found a new president in an efficient way.
